Journal of individual differences

Publishes manuscripts dealing with individual differences in behavior, emotion, cognition, and their developmental aspects. This includes human as well as animal research. It is conceptualized to bring together researchers working in different areas ranging from, for example, molecular genetics to theories of complex behavior. Moreover, it places emphasis on papers dealing with special methodological and conceptual issues in basic science as well as in their applied fields (assessment of personality and intelligence).



Psychological assessment

Empirical research on measurement and evaluation relevant to the broad field of clinical psychology. Submissions are welcome in the areas of assessment processes and methods. Included are: clinical judgment and the application of decision-making models; paradigms derived from basic psychological research in cognition, personality–social psychology, and biological psychology; development, validation, and application of assessment instruments, observational methods, and interviews.                                                                                                                           The focus is the diagnosis and evaluation of psychological characteristics or processes and assessment of the effectiveness of interventions.                                                                                                                             Assessment of personality, psychopathological symptoms, cognitive and neuropsychological processes, and interpersonal behavior are all relevant. Methodological, theoretical, and review articles addressing clinical assessment processes and methods will also be considered.                                                                                        Case studies will be considered if they make unique contributions to clinical psychological assessment. Papers that focus on measurement theory and methods will be considered if specifically focused on issues in clinical assessment.
